A district with an exceptional architecture
Originally a vast swampy area, its golden age started at the beginning of the 17th century when King Henry IV decided to build a magnificient royal square : La Place des Vosges. The district has become fashionable and attracted many people who have built magnificent mansions. Preserved from the great works of Haussmann, this district offers a trip out of time. During a walk in the district, we will go discover remnants of the old wall built on Philip Augustus’ request and talk about the art of living in the eighteenth century and personalities that have marked the history of this charming neighborhood.
